Description:
Franco – British business in Bordeaux got a kick start for the new year last night with the AGM of the Bordeaux branch of the F.B.B.A. (Franco-British Business Association). The FBBA, founded in 1994 under the Loi de 1901, is an association which continues the activity in the Sud-Ouest region of the Franco-British Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Its aim is to promote, encourage and help commerce and industry between the United Kingdom, the British Commonwealth and France. The association hopes to make 2013 a very successful year by generating new relations and creating more links between businesses.
The members of the association meet every month in Bordeaux over « Le Drink » , a business networking aperitif. This is a new event which will take place every last Tuesday of the month between 6.30 pm and 8.30 pm. It’s the ideal occasion for business people both French and English speaking to meet in a relaxed atmosphere, talk about their activity, recruit or find a position… It’s a great way to meet like minded people, do business and of course enjoy a drink !
The next Le FBBA Drink will be Tuesday 28th February
6:30 – 8:30pm
Café Bellini,
15 Allées de Tourny
Bordeaux
Tramway: Quinconces Car Park: Chapeau Rouge / Tourny
The event costs 10€ for non members and is free for members and their guests. If you would like to become a member, it is by invitation only, so don’t hesitate to go along to Le FBBA Drink, introduce yourself and join the Franco-British Business Association.
If you would like to contact the FBBA before Le FBBA Drink, you can do so by using the enquiry form below, or contacting them directly via their website.
Here is a message from the former President of the Association, Gerry Freed on the importance of the FBBA:
“Britain and France, in common with most developed nations, face serious economic challenges as living standards normalise across the globe. There is a real need to take full advantage of their complimentary heritage and skills, to work together for mutual benefit. Historic rivalries are just that – historic- and our future depends on collaboration. The substantial presence of British residents with commercial experience in our region could present a valuable asset to France when appropriately motivated.
During my Presidency of the FBBA , my ambitions are to put in place active groups who can
• Enrich the networking and relationships between British and French business enterprises in the region.
• Facilitate collaborative development of commercial activities in the fast growing economies.
• Foster the formation of young anglophone French entrepreneurs particularly aiming at new industries”
