Bordeaux News: Pont d’Aquitaine Closed 14th December

Due to maintenance road works, the Aquitaine Bridge, Pont d’Aquitaine spanning the Garonne river in the north of Bordeaux will be closed tonight.  Traffic will be blocked from 9pm through to 6am the following morning on both nights. 

The rest of Bordeaux ring road will be open as usual.  No traffic will be able to access the ring road, known as the “rocade” from exit 2 anticlockwise and exit 4 clockwise.  Deviations should be put in place for anyone travelling and unfamiliar with the area. 

If the roadworks have to be abanded due to strong winds or other weather conditions the closure will be repeated on Thursday 15th night. 

Cycle Path closed

The cycle path over the Pont d’Aquitaine from the right bank to the left bank (towards Bordeaux centre) is also closed for renovations and will remain closed until the 16^thDecember at 5pm.  It is however possible for cyclists to use the cycle path on the other side of the bridge which has temporarily been made a two-way path.
